Dictionaries

These are the dictionaries I use and what I like about them:

Leo

This is my go to dictionary on my PC and I have the app on my iPad and iPhone. On the PC I like the verb declension tables. I also like the Noun declension tables but I rarely need them now, but I used them a lot when I first started.

It provides a lot of translation at a single glance so you have to be careful about usage.

Dict.cc

Very good for 2 and more word combinations and idioms.

Linguee

Good for seeing how words are used with example sentences and ranks translations by the importance of translation.

Collins English-German dictionary

As I've improved and started reading more complex books, newspaper articles and other materials I've found I'm increasingly turning to a full dictionary.

If you read on a Kindle or Kindle app for the iPad I recommend buying and installing the dictionary, you can switch to the dictionary just by highlighting a word.
